The judges independently score each team and then collaborate to select first, second, and third prize winning teams. The decision of the judges is final.

The Penn State mHealth Challenge is an IDEA pitch. The objective is to allow students to explore ideas related to societal health issues and brainstorm possible technological solutions that may, when used, positively impact individuals’ health.
As such, judges will focus on four key criteria:

The Penn State mHealth Challenge is an IDEA pitch. The objective is to allow students to explore ideas related to societal health issues and brainstorm possible technological solutions that may, when used, positively impact individuals’ health.
As such, judges will focus on four key criteria:
- How well did the team articulate a specific health problem or unmet need and identify the intended audience segment?
- How well did the team explain the proposed solution, including user interaction, features, and data/information the solution would provide or analyze?
- How well did the team connect the proposed solution to the outcomes they were trying to achieve in relation to the target audience behaviors?
- What is the level of impact that the idea may have on the identified audience in relation to solving the defined health need?
