Why Participate
How It Works
Teams are composed of undergraduate students in Biobehavioral Health (BBH/College of Health and Human Development), Nursing, and Information Sciences and Technology (IST).
Teams are challenged to design a technology-focused solution to an identified health issue affecting a specific population.
Selected teams are invited to participate in a live idea pitch competition, with each member of teams winning at the finals receiving a prize for placing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place, respectively.
What's Involved
BBH and Nursing students prepare briefs on a health issue. The brief contains a description of the target population, the student's experience working with that population and/or on the specific health issue, and behavioral objective(s) designed to address the health issue.
IST students act as technology consultants, working with BBH and Nursing students to create a mock-up of a mobile technology solution that addresses the defined health need.
